Policy For Public Use of the Meeting Room
The meeting room is available for use by all
groups regardless of affiliation; business, civic, commercial,
cultural, educational, governmental, partisan political, professional,
religious, or trade.
- No group may charge admission fees, collect monies, or request
donations. Fees for non-credited adult education classes, and
registration fees (to cover expenses only) for seminars/conferences
are permissible.
Reservations are required to meet to use the meeting
room.
- The Library reserves the right to deny or revoke permission
to use the meeting room.
- Library sponsored and/or affiliated meetings have priority
over all other meetings.
- Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Reservations must be make with the Branch Librarian before
the meeting date.
- Reservations are not available for serial meetings (i.e.,
the third Tuesday monthly).
- Meetings should be held during library business hours when
possible. Reservations outside these hours may be approved at
the discretion of the librarian.
- Meetings held outside business hours must have at least one
adult (over 18 years of age) present at all times.
If needed, the group reserving the meeting room
must pick up the key in advance, as the librarian directs. The key
must be returned immediately after the meeting by dropping it in
the book return, or as directed by the librarian.
The group reserving the meeting room is responsible
for arrangement of the room as needed. Library furnishings must
not be removed from the building's interior without express written
consent of the librarian.
Groups using the meeting room are responsible for
handling their own equipment, exhibits, and materials at their own
risk. The library is not responsible for theft or damage to group
equipment, exhibits, and materials.
If library equipment will be needed, the group
must request it when making the reservation. The group is responsible
for proper operation of any equipment provided by the library and
is responsible for any damages to the equipment.
The group reserving the meeting room is responsible
for leaving the room and/or provided equipment as it was found.
The group is responsible for damages to the equipment, facility
interiors, exteriors, grounds, and parking lots.
Smoking is prohibited in the library building.
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the library building, on the
grounds, and in the parking lots.
Granting the use of library facilities or grounds
is not an endorsement of the user(s) or the user(s) beliefs by the
Library, Library staff, or the Library Board of Trustees.
Regulations governing the public use of the meeting
room are made by, and may be revised only by the Library Board of
Trustees.
