Friends of the Mount Airy Public Library

The library accepts adult and student volunteers. Volunteers are used to help with a multitude of tasks including: shelving, repairing books, cleaning, computer work and work at the circulation desks. Students must be 14 years of age or assigned through a school project. Schedules and volunteer duties will be determined by the Branch Librarian.

Each year, Friends of the Mount Airy Public Library provides financial and volunteer support for programs, services, and facilities at our library. Our library is our community center, offering access to a wide variety of resources through Friends-supported internet access, thousands of books, magazines, videos and music for children and adults, story time for children, a writer's group for budding novelists, holiday parties for school children, and a variety of other programs, all made possible through the generosity of you, our friends.

It takes so little to be a friend; join us in supporting this vital part of our community. We meet the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30 am.
