All NWRL branches will be closed Monday, May 30th for the Memorial Day holiday. All branches will reopen at their regular times on Tuesday, May 31st.
Saturday, June 11th will be the annual Freeborne's Ride for Readers in Laurel Springs. Come ride and join us for lunch and live music afterwards.
Congratualtions to all the winners of the 10th annual NWRL "Show Us Your Best" photography contest. The entire array of photos will be at the Charles H. Stone Memorial Library in Pilot Mountain until the end of April. The winning entries will then go on tour to other NWRL branches for the remainder of the year. For the first time Northwestern Regional Library has digital local history items on www.digitalnc.org. The Digital Heritage Center supports community engagement and lifelong learning by promoting and increasing access of the historical collections and North Carolina’s cultural heritage through digitization. The Center is supported by the State Library of North Carolina, with funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library and Services and Technology Act, and by the UNC-Chapel Hill University Library.
