The Northwestern Regional Library system includes thirteen member libraries in Alleghany, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin counties
of North Carolina.

The area spans over 1,500 square miles in the beautiful foothills
and mountains of northwestern North Carolina.

Save the date for the 3rd annual Ride for Readers.  This year the Ride will be held at Veterans Memorial Park in Mt. Airy on Saturday, May 24th.  After the ride, stay for lunch and live music by 5Play.  More details coming soon!


Congratulations to South Stokes High School for winning the 2014 Quiz Bowl and to Yadkin Early College for being the runner-up. 


For the first time Northwestern Regional Library has digital local history items on  The Digital Heritage Center supports community engagement and lifelong learning by promoting and increasing access of the historical collections and North Carolina‚Äôs cultural heritage through digitization.  The Center is supported by the State Library of North Carolina, with funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library and Services and Technology Act, and by the UNC-Chapel Hill University Library.

Congratulations to all the winners of our 8th annual photo contest.  The traveling exhibit will be at the Charles H Stone Memorial Library until April 9th and then at the Mount Airy Public Library until the end of April.  Digital copies of some of the photos are now up in our Photo section.
